Corrections and Complaints Policy
Publisher: DEFUXA Global News Operated by: DERVALYN LTD Editorial enquiries: publishing@dervalyn.com
1. Our Commitment to Accuracy
DEFUXA Global News is committed to accuracy, fairness and transparency in its journalism.
We recognise that factual errors, omissions or misleading information may occasionally appear in published reporting. When significant inaccuracies are identified, we aim to investigate them promptly and make appropriate corrections.
We welcome feedback from readers, sources and individuals or organisations mentioned in our coverage.
2. Reporting an Error or Concern
If you believe an article contains inaccurate information, misleading context or another editorial issue, please contact us.
Email: publishing@dervalyn.com
Online: Visit our Contact page and select Editorial correction.
To help us assess your concern, please provide:
- The URL of the relevant article.
- The specific statement, image or information in question.
- An explanation of the alleged error or concern.
- Relevant supporting evidence or reliable sources.
- Your contact details, if you would like a response.
Please avoid including unnecessary sensitive personal information.
3. How We Review Complaints
Editorial complaints are assessed against the available evidence and the circumstances of the original publication.
Our review may involve examining source material, checking the disputed facts against reliable information and considering additional evidence submitted by the complainant.
Where appropriate, we may request further information.
Complex, disputed or developing matters may require additional investigation.
Submitting a complaint does not automatically result in an amendment or removal. Editorial decisions are based on the evidence, applicable law and our publishing standards.
4. Corrections, Clarifications and Updates
We distinguish between different types of editorial changes.
Corrections
Where a significant factual error is confirmed, we aim to correct it promptly. When appropriate, we will add a visible correction notice explaining the error and the change made.
Clarifications
Where reporting is factually accurate but could reasonably create a misleading impression, we may add further context or clarification.
Updates
As events develop, articles may be updated with newly verified information. Routine updates are not necessarily corrections.
Retractions
Where serious problems fundamentally undermine the reliability of an article, we may withdraw the content or publish a retraction with an appropriate explanation.
Minor amendments
Spelling, formatting, grammar and other minor changes that do not materially affect the meaning of an article may be made without a formal correction notice.
5. Transparency About Significant Changes
Where a material correction is made, we aim to explain the change in a manner appropriate to the seriousness of the error.
A correction notice may identify the information that was inaccurate, provide the corrected information and indicate when the correction was made.
We do not intend to conceal significant factual errors through unexplained alterations.
Where inaccurate information has also been distributed through DEFUXA-controlled social media channels, we will consider whether a corresponding correction is appropriate.
6. Complaints About Fairness and Editorial Conduct
We also welcome concerns about fairness, misleading presentation, attribution, privacy and other editorial matters.
Where reasonably appropriate, individuals or organisations affected by significant inaccuracies may be offered an opportunity to provide relevant information or a response.
We consider such matters individually, taking account of factual accuracy, freedom of expression, privacy and the public interest.
7. Personal Data and Privacy Requests
Requests concerning personal data, including applicable rights to access, rectify or erase personal information, should be directed to:
privacy@dervalyn.com
Personal data requests are assessed separately under applicable data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
Editorial correction requests and statutory data protection requests may be subject to different requirements.
8. Editorial Independence
Correction decisions are made on editorial and evidential grounds.
Advertising, sponsorship or commercial relationships do not determine whether factual information is corrected.
We do not accept payment in exchange for making or withholding corrections.
9. Press Regulation
DEFUXA Global News is an independent digital news publication.
We do not represent ourselves as members of the Independent Press Standards Organisation (IPSO), IMPRESS or any other press regulator.
Editorial concerns should be submitted directly to DEFUXA Global News using the contact information provided in this policy.
This does not affect any legal rights or remedies that may be available to individuals.
